The WTA is proud to announce our third annual Summer Computer Giveaway event for schools. Priority is given to schools in the Archdiocese of Washington and DC Public Charter schools.  All of the equipment includes delivery to your school, setup if needed,  and a 90-day warranty.  There is absolutely no cost.  The WTA has separate programs to provide free and extremely low-cost computers to teachers and students (email info@wildtech.org for more information)

  • How is this possible? Throughout the winter and spring the WTA seeks high quality donated computers from generous corporations and government agencies . We also raise funds to purchase any missing parts and to cover the costs of pickup, refurbishing, delivery and warranty. Based on how many quality computers we acquire, and how much funding we raise, determines how many free computers we can provide to schools during the Summer Computer Giveaway
  • Why Summer? Most school IT officials and teachers are busy during the school year, unable to consider new classroom technology. The summer is typically when new equipment is acquired.
  • Why do we do it? Technology access is part of our technology workforce development mission. The WTA also believes that high quality used technology is THE most cost effective and environmentally friendly way for schools acquire education technology, and the Summer Giveaway provides schools with a risk-free way to experience the value of refurbished technology.

WHAT YOU NEED TO DO NOW:

The Principal or Education Technology Director from your school must send an email to info@wildtech.org briefly identifying the type and quantity of equipment requested for your school.   There is no need to write a justification, as the WTA will generally divide the equipment evenly based on the number of schools that request the equipment.  The deadline to send the request email is June 22nd at 5pm.

WHAT HAPPENS NEXT:

We will notify the school representative who sent the request by June 30th, including the type and number of computers they will receive.  We will also arrange for shipping and setup (if needed) at your school, which will take place in July.

Thank you so much for all your amazing work for children!
