Eastern Cottonwood Leaves

The chief job of leaves is to make food. They do this by a process called photosynthesis (pronounced foh tuh SINH thus sihs or foh toh SiHN thuh sish). Leaves help make the air breathable. They also provide food for animals, many animals eat leaves. The shiny, green leaves of the eastern cottonwood tree are shaped like a triangle. Their edges are wavy and have a tooth like edge.
