Common name: Walleye

Description: This fish is the largest of the North Am America. They grow up to 36 inches long and they are up 15 pounds. The body is large , and long. Its body is cover with small gray or silver cscales. It has two dorsal fins. One is spiky and the other is soft. Its large eyes that stick out help it see well at night and in the muddy waters.

Habitat: The walleye is a very daptable fish who mostly lives in large rivers, lakes and reservoirs. They live in a water temperature of 50 to 65 degress Fehraithight with clear to slightly turbid waters and rocky to gravely bottoms.

 

Range/migration:

Food:The walleye is a carnivorous fish, which means they eat meat. They eat a big supply of other meaty fishes.

Reproduction: They start reproduction at night when water temperatures arre approximately 50 to 55 degress Fehraithight. The spawning sites are generally over rocky bottoms such as that found near the riprap of dams or in the headwaters of feered streams. The female waleye can release from 5,000 to 50,00 adhexsive eggs along the shoreline as accompany by a male or male who fertizes the eggs. The unattended eggs will hatch in 5 to 9 days. Unde the best conditions only 20% will hatch.

Enemies:Walleye even has larger fish as enemies and also birds.
