When you are going on a hike or doing anything physically
straining you should stretch before hand. If you are doing
something days or weeks ahead then you should exercise.
By exercising you make the hiking easier on yourself and
your body is less likely to give way under the strain
carrying your pack around all day. Your balance will be
better so won't and fall off a bridge or hit the head
on a rock . In other words, you will have a more enjoyable
trip if you make sure you are physically ready for whatever
you are doing.
